A year or so ago I'd had enough of the dumb schmuckery I was seeing online. The outrage, the polarization, how it was infiltrating my life - and everyone I know’s - and warping my perception of reality. Not to mention how it was slowly eroding democracy.

So I wanted to clap back. Gently but effectively. By drawing on the values I grew up with, epitomized in the word mensch… being a good person.

Somewhere between 2015 and now things got weird on socials. Cancel culture, doomscrolling and doxxing all became common practice. And it came at a massive cost: to our heads, our hearts, our ability to think critically and appreciate nuance.

Mensch exists to hype the things that have become wildly underrated. Goodness. Kindness. Good solid people showing up, doing their thing, making the world better.

Because it's everyday people who change the world. It always has been.

When America Gives You Lemons → On performative activism, a stranger at the supermarket, and the difference between a boycott and a costume. "The mensch move isn't the grand declaration. It's just doing the thing, even when it's inconvenient or uncomfortable but most importantly, when nobody's watching."‍ ‍

You've Heard of Critical Thinking. But Have You Heard of Critical Ignoring? → A survival skill for 2026. On filtering schmuckery from sense, and why your Jewish grandmother was right all along. "Sometimes the most dignified, most intelligent response to something that doesn't deserve your energy or attention is a raised eyebrow, a deliberate silence, followed by a dramatic exit. End of story."

There’s merch too, not as the point but as another way for ideas to travel. I’m so grateful that my family members are not only Mensches for agreeing to be models, but that they’re exceptionally good-looking too!
